Rating: ★★★★★

A.R. Davis creates a fantasy reminiscent of Beauty & The Beast with her novel, The Beast. With the dark twists and the romantic innuendos, Davis has created a fantastical and thrilling adventure for her readers. The character development is so well done that you cannot help but relate on a deep and personal level with each one, especially our main protagonist.
It is always pleasant to find a novel with a strong female lead. It was amazing watching this protagonist grow and take charge of her life. She endured so many hardships from a young age, but she does not let the obstacles control her, instead she overcomes them and becomes a strong independent woman.
You will find yourself unable to put this novel down once you begin, as the adventures start from page one and last until the very end. Davis creates an emotional story that tugs at your heartstrings and has you hoping for a happy ending. However, Davis is not one to let the reader determine the outcome. She creates a fantastic story and ends it the way it needed to be ended, not how you hope it ends. This is a novel for all readers and is one that teaches lessons about how unrelenting life can be and how you can find friendship and healing in the most unlikely of places.
I hope to read more from A.R. Davis in the near future, as she has a great writing style and has the ability to tell a thought provoking and adventure filled story.
